| Cyberpunk 2077 |
In terms of PC, I had an enjoyable time. The story and gameplay of Cyberpunk was phenomenal and resulted in me replaying the game countless times because of the multiple endings that were possible I wanted to get all of them. The relationship building, world-building and all around gameplay was fantastic.
Future release Friday's will be an occurrence biweekly on Friday's. I will be talking about new releases coming out, expectations, for those who are unfamiliar with the game a brief description will be written and so forth.
Future games that are most highly anticipated are, A Plague Tale: Requiem and God of War Ragnarök. Each are two entirely different genres, but both equally have phenomenal stories to them.
This game is a sequel to a Plague Tale: Innocence. It "blends fantasy with the Black Death" says IGN in their review about the game which was released back in June of 2021. The first game starts off with Amicia De Rune on a hunt with her father and the family dog in what seems a tranquil and relaxing day. But of course, not everything is as it seems.
When something spooks the dog and causes it to run off, Amicia finds herself chasing after him. When she catches up a mysterious black goo snatches the dog into the ground. She runs off out of the woods with her father but when they arrive home they're met with the Inquisition and for some unknown reason they're after her brother Hugo and will take whatever measures they need to get to him. But due to an illness, Hugo lived a very sheltered life and is a total stranger to his sister. In the face of death Hugo and Amicia are thrown together and she is tasked with protecting him with her life.
In terms of gameplay, it is not a very difficult game to play, you're tasked with keeping your brother alive and at the start you simply start out with a sling and rocks, eventually it grows after you find recipes and so forth. If there are small spaces Amicia cannot reach, Hugo is helped up by Amicia. It is very simple gameplay that anyone would be able to pick up with no problems, but it is an M rated game due to the violence it can posses. Fair warning.
God of War has been a franchise of video games since 2005 and started on the PlayStation 2. God of War Ragnarök is the sequel the 2018 release God of War and continues the journey and relationship of a rebellious god, Kratos and his son, Atreus.
The first game starts off with Kratos who somehow managed to travel to the realms of the Norse gods, as in his time previously he was considered a "spartan warrior" who was tricked into destroying his own family by the god of war Ares and after he disposes of Ares, he becomes the new god of war.
Kratos lives a quiet life in the realm of the Norse gods with his wife Faye and their son Atreus. Previously he wielded the Blades of Chaos but now wields the magical axe, Leviathan.
Sadly, his new life is shattered when Faye passes. Atreus and Kratos have Faye's funeral, but their lives are utterly changed once more once a mysterious tatted figure comes to destroy Kratos and his son.
Because the mysterious man also possess godlike powers the area surrounding Kratos' home is destroyed and once the fight is over Kratos tells his son to pack up his things because their home is no longer safe and Kratos wishes to fulfil his wife's last wish, which is to spread her ashes on the highest mountain in all the nine realms.
In terms of gameplay, it is not for everyone. It has an age rating of M just like A Plague Tale: Requiem. Although both games deal with the fantasy aspect this game deals more with mythology. So those interested in mythology of the Greeks, and Norse will be pleasantly surprised and interested in this game series.
But it does deal with a lot of gory and decently creepy monsters. Those easily grossed out by monsters, fake blood or even a squeamish stomach will probably not enjoy this game.
I never fully finished the first game and do plan on finishing it before the new game releases. I watched playthroughs of a Plagues Tale: Innocence and instantly fell in love with the story it encased you in.
Although the sibling duo was not very close to begin with and Amicia did not know her brother very well her sisterly instinct kicked in and she would do anything to protect her brother.
It is the same dynamic in God of War, Kratos was not entirely there for Atreus as he grew up. But he would do anything to protect his son and it shows through the game. For those interested in furthering their interest and reviews of the previous games both Game Informer and Gamespot are fantastic websites with numerous reviews and very in depth articles.
